Chelsea boss Antonio Conte to stun Premier League with Gareth Bale swoop – report

That’s according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon who reckon the Italian chief was to reinvest the cash banked from Diego Costa’s sale.

Costa is formally heading to Atletico Madrid in January for around £58m.

And Conte is reportedly ready to put that money to good use with an ambitious swoop for Bale.

Don Balon reckon Chelsea wants to partner Bale in an Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard trio.

It’s suggested Conte is well aware that signing the Wales international won’t be easy.

However, he’s convinced the club’s profile can help convince Bale to quit Madrid for west London.

Don Balon say the 28-year-old’s days at the Bernabeu are numbered and a move to Stamford Bridge could be lucrative for him.

Chelsea are cash rich and might be ready to offer him a hefty pay rise.

They could face stiff competition for his signature, though.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer and would love to bring Bale to Old Trafford.

Bale moved to Spain from Spurs in 2013 but struggled last term.

He missed 23 games in the 2016/17 season through injury and he’s currently sidelined with a left calf problem.

Despite his injury woes, Bale has an impressive record for Real.

He’s bagged 70 goals in 159 games for the La Liga champions.
