Conte confirms injury blows in Live Press Conference: “There’s a lot of bull***t”

Antonio Conte has dismissed speculation that his Chelsea future is in fresh doubt.

Reports on Friday suggested former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is on standby for a return to Stamford Bridge because the club hierarchy do not expect Conte to see out his contract.

But the Chelsea boss believes it is an attempt to damage his relationship with the club and branded the reports ‘disrespectful’.

Conte said: “There’s a lot of bull***t. They try to create problems between me and the club. I’ve answered this very well in the past about different issues.

“It’s a lack of respect. To put other persons in this way is not correct. It is not correct and I hate this type of situation.”

Ancelotti spent two seasons at Chelsea, winning the FA Cup and the Premier League during his first campaign at the club.

Chelsea’s injury situation has been pretty bad this year, and while things are now on the mend, the Blues aren’t out of the woods yet according to Antonio Conte.

The Italian coach has just given his prematch press conference ahead of the game against Bournemouth, and when asked about his squad’s fitness his updates weren’t entirely positive.

According to Conte, Victor Moses is still a couple of weeks away from fitness – that’s hardly surprising.

But Danny Drinkwater, who returned to play an hour in midweek against Everton will also apparently need more time to be back to full fitness according to Conte, who basically straight up said he wasn’t willing to start him.

N’Golo Kante is also out injured, but Conte says he’s hopeful to have him back next week against Roma, or failing that against Manchester United next weekend.

While the trio are out, the good news it that it sounds like all three could be back before too long.
