Man City fan goes viral after posting tweet when Batshuayi came on for Chelsea v Watford

Chelsea have been on a poor run of form recently.

The Blues were winless in three before yesterday’s match-up with Watford, but they got off to a great start with Pedro’s wonder-goal.

But Abdoulaye Doucoure scored just before the break, and the away side extended their lead after Roberto Pereyra gave them an unlikely lead.

However, Antonio Conte brought on Willian and Michy Batshuayi after the hour mark, and their introductions saved Chelsea’s blushes as they fought back to achieve a 4-2 victory.

Batshuayi was the catalyst for their comeback, coming on in the 61st minute and scoring two goals on his way to picking up the man-of-the-match award.

It was an extremely satisfying game for the Belgian, who has struggled for minutes since arriving from Marseille in the summer of 2016.

In recent weeks, his performances has drawn criticism from fans across the globe, particularly for the part he played in Chelsea’s embarrassing loss to Crystal Palace earlier this month.

But he proved a lot of people wrong after securing victory for his side yesterday, including this Manchester City fan who mocked Antonio Conte’s decision to bring him on.

What makes this even more awkward, is this Manchester City fan was adamant that Batshuayi could not guide his team to victory.

How wrong he was.

Despite eventually securing the victory yesterday, it was far from convincing for the home side.

Chelsea looked completely out-of-sorts after the break, and Watford could even have put the game to bed if Richarlison had converted two easy chances that fell his way.

Nevertheless, Chelsea leapfrogged Watford into 4th place, having accumulated 16 points from their opening nine games.

It has not been a great start for the reigning champions, who find themselves nine points behind runaway leaders, Manchester City.

Antonio Conte’s side will have to improve drastically if they are to claw their way back into title contention.
