Chelsea team news: Conte to rotate for Huddersfield game, Drinkwater and Luiz could return

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte is poised to rotate his options as he seeks an immediate response to Saturday’s defeat to West Ham when they take on Huddersfield tomorrow night.

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater (illness) and defender David Luiz (knee) missed last Saturday’s 1-0 loss to West Ham.

And the duo could return to Conte’s first-team plans against Huddersfield, with both being monitored.

Wing-back Marcos Alonso and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could be among those rested after both were substituted inside an hour at the London Stadium.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner could welcome back winger Rajiv van La Parra following his straight red card in the recent home defeat to Manchester City.

Wagner has no new injury or suspension worries after Saturday’s home win against Brighton.

Terriers defender Michael Hefele returned to full training yesterday following an Achilles injury but Chelsea loanee Kasey Palmer is ineligible.

Huddersfield provisional squad: Lossl, Coleman, Malone, Cranie, Schindler, Jorgensen, Hadergjonaj, Smith, Lowe, Williams, Whitehead, Hogg, Mooy, Ince, Kachunga, Van La Parra, Quaner, Depoitre, Mounie.

Chelsea provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Kenedy, Zappacosta, Willian, Batshuayi, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Luiz, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Eduardo, Ampadu.
