Chelsea News: Update on Man Utd target Willian, Courtois contract latest, Morata blow

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hailed Willian and hopes he remains committed to the Blues.

Willian is wanted by Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window following his fine form in recent weeks.

Conte is grateful for how the Brazilian has bought into his project at Stamford Bridge and is eager to keep hold of him.

The Italian said: “I think Willian is playing in a fantastic way, with the ball and without it, and his commitment is very high. He is in a fantastic moment of form and he has to continue in this way.”

Thibaut Courtois insists he remains fully dedicated to Chelsea despite ongoing speculation linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid.

The Blues goalkeeper said: “I’m committed to Chelsea. I have a contract until next year and I will be here. I will do my best for it.

“Obviously there is no extension signed but I don’t think now is the moment to do it. I think it is better to wait until the end of the season.

“All I can say is I’m committed to Chelsea and also committed for next year.”

Alvaro Morata has been left out of Spain’s squad for the upcoming international break following his struggles for form and fitness at Chelsea.

Spain coach Julen Lopetegui said: “Morata is somebody who has almost always been included. He’s had some physical problems and he’s not been playing much and we’ve decided that now it was better to call up others.

“But he’s not out of our thoughts and he has his chances to go to the World Cup. We hope that he will have more prominence in his team.

“I’m sure he’s going to have an extraordinary end to the season and will have every chance to be with us. I’ve no doubt about that.”
