Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez finished another impressive season with an eye-catching display in his side’s thrilling 5-4 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday, and Chelsea fans have urged their club to sign the attacker, rated at £60m according to the Daily Mail.

The Algeria international scored once and provided a further two assists for the Foxes in the nine-goal game, meaning he ended the campaign with 12 goals and 11 assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

The 27-year-old looks likely to move on from the King Power Stadium this summer, and the Stamford Bridge faithful would certainly like to see him arrive in west London, where he would potentially be set to work under a new manager such as Napoli’s Maurizio Sarri, with Antonio Conte surely on his way after the FA Cup final following a fifth-place finish and 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United on the final day.

Chelsea supporters, who slammed one of their 23-year-old stars for his poor performance in the loss to the Magpies, were quick to have their say on Mahrez’s latest showing via social media, and while one said “imagine the chaos him and Hazard would unleash under Sarri”, another said “he will score a lot under a manager like Sarri”.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

Honestly, I have never been a huge fan of Mahrez like some on my TL but pretty confident he will score a lot under a manager like Sarri.
