Report: Juventus Planning €60M Offer for Chelsea Striker

Juventus are reportedly preparing to make a move for Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata and are looking to tempt the Blues with a loan-to-buy offer worth €60 million (£53 million).

According to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, Juve are readying an initial loan offer of €15 million with a €45 million transfer fee to follow as they look to bring Morata back to the Old Lady (via Goal).

Morata, 25, spent two seasons at Juve before returning to Real Madrid when they activated his buyback clause in 2016.

After one campaign back at the club where he came through the youth system, Morata became Chelsea’s record signing last summer:

The Spain international has not enjoyed the best debut season at Stamford Bridge, though.

He made an impressive start in the Premier League, netting six goals in his first six matches before the end of September.

However, Morata has since only added five more to his tally in the English top flight and boasts a 2017-18 Premier League return of 11 goals in 29 appearances.

He has struggled for game time lately under manager Antonio Conte and last played the full 90 minutes of a Premier League match back in February when Chelsea lost 2-1 to Manchester United.

January signing Olivier Giroud has started as the lone striker in Chelsea’s two most recent games, while Conte has also occasionally opted to play Eden Hazard as a false nine rather than start Morata.

It would be understandable if the Spaniard were open to a return to Juve, as he thrived in his previous two seasons with the Italian giants, winning two domestic doubles and scoring in the 2015 UEFA Champions League final.

However, he has more than four years remaining on his Blues contract and given he has shown flashes of excellence this season, it seems unlikely Chelsea would give up on such a talented player after just one campaign with the club.

The Kerry Dixon Show – Chelsea v Liverpool

Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon joins Stamford Chidge to discuss Chelsea’s win against Swansea; the Under 18’s 5th FA Youth Cup trophy in a row and this weekend’s big match against Liverpool.

With four away wins in a row, have Chelsea and Conte re-discovered their form? With Antonio Conte critical of the team’s goal scorers was he right to pin the blame on the strikers?

The Chelsea youth emulated the Busby Babes with the fantastic achievement of 5 consecutive FA Youth Cup trophies. The youth development has been phenomenal and seem to be streets ahead of the competition but what has been the secret of their success?

While Hudson-Odoi and Dujon Sterling have had first team opportunities, will any others break through? How hard is it for them to break through and does the loan system work?

With the visit of Champions League finalists Liverpool are they favourites to beat Chelsea on Sunday? It may seem that there is nothing to play for but it is still a huge match, is there a chance that Chelsea can pip them to 4th spot in the league?

And how do we stop Salah; should Conte pick Emerson or Alonso and should Giroud or Morata start
